So, yeah, being single right now is, well, complicated af.Luckily, Match just released its seventh annual Singles in America survey, the nation’s largest, most comprehensive annual survey of single people living in the U. The dating climate is definitely a lot different than it was five years ago.
On the positive side, the age 50-plus daters seem to be pretty darn smart when choosing a date-mate. As you can see our intentions at the outset can be quite different. Another important factoid about men is they say what they mean. You seem to be focusing on doing the so-called “right” thing because you want to make men happy. When you value yourself, a good guy will value all of you. Have sex only when you feel ready, NOT when you feel pressured. As to the “why” behind the lack of date-nights, nearly 60 percent say they don’t need a relationship to be happy.
More than 40 percent said they were considering it, but not actually doing it. More than 30 percent don’t even know where to begin and nearly 30 percent say they find it too stressful (think back to those sweaty palms and awkward conversations.) For more than 40 percent of respondents, other priorities are simply more important, and nearly one-quarter say it’s just too difficult to date when you’re 50-plus.
